All Good Things Must Come to an End By: Hayat Hussein, Anaiya Bobo, and Maylin Murillo Sanchez
Hey Argyle Students! Unfortunately this week, we come bearing sad news instead of a usual update. Sadly, the yearbook class is only one semester long and that means as a class we won’t be able to update the Argyle Yearbook website any longer - Once the semester ends on Friday. Booooooo. But do not worry do not fear, everyone will get a yearbook so instead let's CHEER! This yearbook class has been an interesting and divine class throughout the whole semester and all the students were hard working. The students have put in all their effort to their spreads and articles and they couldn’t have done it without the help of other students and staff. Although the yearbook class is ending there will be an after school yearbook club that you can join. So by all means if you want to join please contact Ms. Powell in room 203. We have had a great year together and wonderful memories!
The Holiday Concert that Stole Hearts
By : Hayat Hussein & Anaiya Bobo Tis’ the season for the winter concert! Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la! If you didn’t attend this year’s 2016 AMS Winter Concert, you missed out on a great event. But don’t worry we have all the details coming for you, brought to you by Hayat and Anaiya. Anaiya and I took the opportunity to interview the teacher who made it all happen, Mr. Levine - Argyle’s music teacher, concerning his opinions on the winter concert. “It went great!,” he claims. “The kids performed really well and kept the performance neat and organized.”
Anaiya: “Did you have any expectations for this concert? If so, do you think your students fulfilled them?”
Mr. Levine: “What I really wanted from my students was for them to really work together this year, to behave as a team and maintain friendships with each other. I wanted things to remain orderly and for the students to practice in the individual.”
Hayat: “And do you think your students fulfilled this?”
Mr. Levine: “Yes, my students definitely did that and pulled off an excellent concert.”
Both Mr. Levine and the staff were very impressed with how the winter concert went, and were happy with the students performances. The timing of the concert allowed more practice time and more songs to be added. All in all, the concert was a huge success and gave students the opportunity to bond and viewers the opportunity to see a great concert. Can’t wait for the next one Mr. Levine!
Moving On
By: Braden Wilt (B) and Rindailova Fanai (R)
B: Everyone has to move up to high school at some point where, yes you will be leaving behind some of your old friends you will make new ones and everyone has to grow up one day anyway so why dwell on it? You may be able to contact them through social media, contacting them on the phone or actually go out and see them. But it is the friends you can’t contact that you will miss the most and you will feel like they are gone/dead and will never see nor hear from again but again look on the bright side you can still contact some, you will make new ones and finally some may stay with you and those may or may not be the ones mean the most to you.
R: Don’t worry. You still have the memories in you heart. (Even the bad ones too, unfortunately) Look forward to the future. Your future, and you make it the best you can. Even if you forgot something, you still have it in someway. New ones or old, there is a connection made between between you. Even if you go become someone else, some part of you is still the same. Don’t be afraid to grow up, because you still are the same person.
B: Why not cherish those memories? Why not just move on? Moving on is the hardest part but, just like going up to high school and growing up everyone needs to do it.
R: Kind of like maturing into an adult after college (if you go to college), or maybe a little younger than 21 years old.
B: Personally it reminds me of Pink Floyd’s song titled “Wish You Were Here” because it is about losing a friend where in the song it is about losing a friend through death but going to high school is just losing a friend.
R: I love that song too, and I agree that everyone needs to move on too.
B: I know I am talking in circles now but, everyone needs to move on, cherish their memories and just think about the good times and the future, just take life one moment at a time and just remember your friends who knows you may or may not see or here from them again.
R: Think of it as another step in your life. I honestly can relate to anyone who has these feelings. But you know, I keep the memories because I love them.
R: It is not normally just goodbye it can be a lot of times but just think of saying goodbye as “See Ya Later.” For now.
B: Everyone just needs to say goodbye at one or more times in their life whether it be death or just going on to high school, everyone needs to say goodbye like we are right now ending this article.
